Job Posting Guidelines

Please note: This forum is intended for entry-level actuarial job openings. If you would like to post a job for which candidates should have previous actuarial experience, you may wish to visit the Job sections of the Casualty Actuarial Society's Web Site at http://www.casact.org/advert/jobs/jobpostings_guidelines.htm or the Society of Actuaries' Web Site at http://www.soa.org/careers/detail.aspx.

The Casualty Actuarial Society and Society of Actuaries will post job opportunities in a designated section of www.BeAnActuary.org. In order to control such postings, the following guidelines muct be observed.

  1.  All job postings must be for legitimate actuarial openings.

  2.  Advertisers must identify themselves and list where the position(s) is located (i.e., New York City, Chicago, Nationwide). The title of the position(s) should be included.

  3.  Nonprincipals, such as recruiters, search firms, employment consultants, and placement services, must identify themselves as such.

  4.  Salary levels that are expected for the job must be listed. Although caveats such as "or commensurate with experience" are permitted, a specific range must be shown.

  9.  A contact person must be shown, along with appropriate contact data (Phone, Fax, Email).

  10.  It is the responsibility of the employer to cancel the posting if the job has been filled.

  11.  No hard copy or faxes will be accepted. Job postings must be submitted in electronic format via e-mail, floppy disk or the online form.

  12.  Jobs can be posted for intervals of 60 days, 180 days, or 365 days, and will be removed after the predetermined time period. It is the responsibility of the employer to renew the posting, if desired.

  13.  The cost for a job posting is 60 days - $300; 180 days - $800; and 365 days - $1,500. Prepayment is required. No refunds or substitutions.

  14.  The posting of an open position does not constitute knowledge, endorsement, or approval by the CAS/SOA, nor does the CAS/SOA accept any liability for the content of any listing.

  15.  Fill out the online form to submit the job posting. Instructions on submitting payment will be provided after completion of the form.
