Earn While You Learn

Like other top-ranked professions such as law and medicine, actuaries must pass a set of examinations to achieve professional credentials. Unlike other professions, in actuarial science you’ll have the opportunity to work as an actuary while completing the examination process—employers often allow study time during working hours, pay for exam fees and study materials, and even award raises and bonuses for each exam passed. Many aspiring actuaries begin taking their exams while still in college, and that can help with getting a foot in the door for actuarial internships. Others may start taking exams after working in another career for some time.
