The CAS/SOA Joint Committee on Inclusion, Equity and Diversity. We want to be sure that everyone who has the talent and the desire to be an actuary also has the opportunity. Right now, African-American, Hispanic and Native American communities are underrepresented. To ensure that our profession is as dynamic and multi-dimensional as possible, we’ve created the CAS/SOA Joint Committee on Inclusion, Equity and Diversity. It’s the committee’s mission to recruit quality mathematical and analytical talent from all backgrounds and perspectives.
To do this, we actively support:
- Summer actuarial programs for high school students so students can get comfortable with the profession.
- Reimbursements for qualified minority students who pass either of their first two exams.
- Mentoring opportunities for those who want more guidance on what it takes to be a professional in today’s economy.
